Molina 2724 – The Florentine Chalice & Dish Paten

An exquisite expression of traditional European ecclesiastical artistry, the Molina 2724 "The Florentine" Chalice combines elegant Renaissance-inspired styling with magnificent deep-relief repoussé metalwork. Featuring beautifully sculpted grapes, vines, and Passion flowers, this exceptional sacred vessel is handcrafted in Spain and finished in luxurious 24-karat gold plating.

Inspired by the artistic traditions of 15th-century Florence, the Molina 2724 reflects the graceful proportions, elaborate ornamentation, and refined craftsmanship associated with the Italian Renaissance.

The chalice is distinguished by its exceptionally detailed grape and Passion flower decoration, created through traditional repoussé metalworking techniques. The raised designs create remarkable depth and dimension, allowing light to highlight the intricate religious ornamentation and beautiful gold-plated surfaces.

Beautiful Eucharistic Symbolism

The richly decorated chalice incorporates two meaningful elements of Catholic symbolism:

Grapes and Vines: A traditional Eucharistic symbol representing the wine consecrated into the Precious Blood of Christ during Holy Mass. The grapevine also recalls Christ's words, "I am the true vine," emphasizing the faithful's spiritual union with Our Lord.

Passion Flowers: Long associated with the Passion of Jesus Christ, the Passion flower serves as a beautiful reminder of His suffering, sacrifice, and redemptive love.

Together, these decorative elements create a meaningful visual connection between the sacrifice of Christ and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

Traditional Florentine Craftsmanship

The Molina 2724 features a gracefully proportioned cup, beautifully ornamented stem and node, and an elaborate base displaying exceptional repoussé craftsmanship.

Unlike simple engraved decoration, repoussé metalwork creates raised relief patterns, giving the floral and grapevine designs a sculptural quality that adds depth and richness to the chalice.

The brilliant 24-karat gold-plated finish further emphasizes the intricate details, creating a warm and distinguished appearance suitable for traditional Catholic churches, chapels, and solemn liturgical celebrations.

Manufactured by Molina Artistic Silver of Spain, The Florentine reflects the company's longstanding tradition of exceptional European silversmithing and fine sacred vessel production.

Standing 7⅞ inches tall, with a 4⅛-inch cup diameter and 12-ounce capacity, the Molina 2724 offers elegant proportions and a distinguished appearance for priests, parishes, cathedrals, and religious communities.

A coordinating 6¼-inch dish paten is included, completing this exceptional chalice and paten set.
